AUTHENTICATION PROCESS
We offer competent and affordable authentication and encapsulation services for contemporary First-Generation Type 1 photos at an affordable price. We define contemporary as 1975 to 2006. This is accomplished through a 4-step process where we evaluate, verify, confirm and encapsulate photos. That process is described as follows:
01 EVALUATE
photos to confirm that in our opinion the photo is a first generation, analog photo. We immediately reject photos that we determine are either 2nd generation or digital.
02 VERIFY
the photo was executed on dark room paper proper for the period based on the manufacturer’s logo or watermark. This includes certain blank back photos especially those that can be tied to reputable photojournalists.
03 CONFIRM
the photo appears on paper manufactured in a reasonable proximity to when the image was captured.
04 ENCAPSULATE
the photos in a high-quality archival holder that is sealed with a tamper proof informational label with a unique hologram that is entered into our database.
